Compressed Gas Process Improvement Projects
Compressed Gas Productivity Improvement initiatives began in Cleveland, Ohio, where the Screw Machine was invented. As a matter of fact, Warner Swasey, ACME bar chucker turning machines were the first machines Productivity Solutions worked on for Swagelok. Our experience then expanded into the medical and industrial CGS fitting and assembly industry implementing assembly cells, kanban replenishment systems, writing assembly and testing procedures, designing new cryogenic products and reducing scrap.
High Purity Compressed Gas Fitting & Valve Machining
• Implemented Productivity Reporting Program (PRP) into two machining facilities for determining plant capacities, labor efficiency analysis, scrap logging, and WIP inventory tracking for stainless steel valves and fittings.
• Designed tools and setups for multiple spindle screw machines.
Compressed Gas Equipment Manufacturer
Fabricate and assemble medical & industrial regulators, fittings, manifolds, flash arresters, and oxygen tanks.
- Implemented leveled scheduling with new assembly cell layouts for continuous flow processing, utilizing Kanban cards to increase production by 15% and minimize WIP inventory.
- Additionally, installed bar coding for finished product inventory tracking.
- Furthermore, created assembly cells based on product families with line balancing to maximize throughput.
- Initiated the R&D Department, which included selecting lab equipment, designing layouts, training technicians, constructing, and documenting product testing.
- Designed, fabricated, installed, and supported Cryogenic Oxygen Pumping Systems for the home health care industry.
